Precious metals expert Michael Ballanger discusses the recent rise in precious metals prices and what he sees ahead for the metals. As many of us have grown to appreciate over the years, forecasts tend to be nothing more than "educated guesses" and no matter what methods one uses, predicting directional and amplitudinal movements in economics or finance or asset prices is analogous to standing in the paddock at Woodbine racetrack with a copy of the racing forum and a cup of black coffee, trying to determine whether Stormy's Revenge or Gluewagon is going to take the fifth in the mud. I spend literally hours upon hours drawing lines on charts and reading other people's forecasts in a desperate attempt to handicap the next $50 move in gold and I must confess that even without the nausea brought about by countless interventions and manipulations, it is an extremely difficult exercise.
Before we look at tonights charts I would like to take a minute to discuss trading the three X leveraged etf’s. Leveraged etf’s aren’t for everyone as they can be very volatile. These instruments are for those that can take a bigger risk and still come out OK when they go against you. For the average investor a 1 X leveraged etf is all they can handle and that should be fine. When you start playing with the 2 X and 3 X leveraged etf’s your risk factor goes up very fast.

As we continue to explore our custom research into the metals markets and our presumption that the metals markets are poised for a massive price rally over the next few months/years, we pick up this second part of our multi-part article illustrating our research work and conclusions.  If you missed the first part of this article, please take a minute to review it by before continuing further (Link to Part I).
MCX offers an extensive range of products, which can be clubbed into 4 categories: bullion, base metals, energy and agricultural commodities. The bullion category includes silver, gold, silver mini, silver 1000, gold mini, gold metal, gold guinea etc. The category of base metals includes zinc, nickel, aluminum, brass, lead, nickel mini, zinc mini and nickel mini. The energy section includes natural gas, unrefined oil and crude oil mini. Finally, the agricultural commodities provided by MCX include mentha oil, cotton, black pepper, cardamom and crude-palm oil.
What's causing these swift declines in the major indexes? In part, some of the blame lies with concerns over a looming trade war. Recently announced tariffs on steel and aluminum are designed to directly hit China, which generates a substantial annual trade surplus from the United States. Wall Street and investors clearly fear the possibility of retaliatory tariffs, and thus slower global growth.

The recent upswing in NG prices has been an incredible trade for many, yet we believe a top is now forming in Natural Gas that could catch many traders by surprise.  The recent upside gap in price and upward price volatility would normally not concern long traders.  They would likely view this as a tremendous success for their long NG positions, yet we believe this move is about to come to a dramatic end – fairly quickly.
Managed Money are futures market participants who engage in futures trades on behalf of investment funds or clients. While Managed Money are commonly equated with hedge funds, they may include Commodity Pool Operators and other managed accounts as well as hedge funds. They tend to be early, but they are usually right on the long run. Extreme divergences in the net positions of large traders (managed money) and the price of the underlying security have proven to be reliable indicators of important trend changes.

MCX has its presence in more than 1,200 cities in India and has a network of 669 listed members and 51,575 certified individuals. The exchange is aimed at fostering societies, which are extremely important for the further advancement of its operations.
The relative scarcity or abundance of commodities can cause large movements in their prices. In the case of agricultural commodities, for example, the size of the annual crop yield can move market prices. Other factors that can affect supply include political, environmental or labor issues in major producing countries. For example, environmental regulations might lead to the closure of mines, and metal prices could rise in response to this supply shortfall. Inventory levels could also impact the available supply of commodities. If major consumers of commodities build up inventory levels, then the market might see the increased supply as an overhang on prices. On the other hand, depletion of inventories could create the perception of a supply shortfall and cause prices to rise.
The primary reason behind this is the watershed change in global central banks’ monetary policies. For years central banks had been keeping rates near 0%, or below, and at the same time printing over a hundred billion dollars’ worth of fiat currencies each and every month to purchase bonds and stocks. That is all changing now. According to Capital Economics, fourteen major global central banks are either in the process right now, or have indicated that they be will next year, in the process of raising interest rates. At the same time, QE on a global net basis will plunge from $180 billion per month at its peak during 2017, to $0 by December…and will then go negative in 2019.
“Over 75% of U.S. industries have registered an increase in concentration levels over the last two decades. Firms in industries with the largest increases in product market concentration have realized higher profit margins, positive abnormal stock returns, and more profitable M&A deals, which suggest that market power is becoming an important source of value.”
Best example can be given of Trump who said not to hire overseas workers and to cut import to a minimum. SO naturally IT companies fell a lot , pharma and manufacturing too fell a lot as some companies have their manufacturing units and human resources in US and such statements translate into uncertainty for the business which is depicted by panic selling of investors in such stocks.

China demand, the China and India “love trade”, cyclical inflation driving up the prices of commodities and resources and the classic… economic growth in the US will create cost-push inflation through wage increases with the smart money seeking inflation protection in gold. All of those and a veritable Turducken of mishmashed ingredients were served to gold bugs as a decidedly not delectable appetizer before the main course.

Prices of Crude Oil has an effect on our markets specially on stocks of OIL companies , Paint companies and Aviation Companies since they import majority of the crude oil. Also India imports 80% of its crude oil . This makes up 30–50% of our import bill. SO if OPEC nations such as Nigeria , Saudi , Russia or US cut their production so that crude oil barrel prices spike , it will have a negative effect on India’s stock markets.
Ed Yardeni, who was the Chief Investment Strategist for Oak Associates as well as a professor and an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank, developed the FED model. This model compares bond rates to equity premiums. For example, if the 10-year Treasury note has a higher earnings yield than the stock market (as calculated based on the trailing 12 months), you should buy bonds. If, on the other hand, the earnings yield of the market is above that of bonds, you should buy equities.
FINANCIAL MARKETS OVERVIEW FOR MONDAY: (11/19) The week before Thanksgiving is usually frustrating for traders. By late Monday, traders are disappearing and markets stay in useless ranges with pattern waiting to be completed. Dips on stocks will be bought for a Thanksgiving rally only to give it back early next week. Metals and crude look higher this week even if we have a Monday/Tuesday pullback here. T-notes could hold up an extra week but minimum target is close.
Coffee: The global coffee industry is enormous. In the United States alone, it accounts for more than 1.6% of GDP and an estimated 1.7 million jobs. As a commodity, coffee is intriguing for at least two reasons. The overwhelming supply of the commodity derives from just five countries. At the same time, global demand for coffee continues to grow as emerging market economies develop a taste for the beverage.
