The primary reason behind this is the watershed change in global central banks’ monetary policies. For years central banks had been keeping rates near 0%, or below, and at the same time printing over a hundred billion dollars’ worth of fiat currencies each and every month to purchase bonds and stocks. That is all changing now. According to Capital Economics, fourteen major global central banks are either in the process right now, or have indicated that they be will next year, in the process of raising interest rates. At the same time, QE on a global net basis will plunge from $180 billion per month at its peak during 2017, to $0 by December…and will then go negative in 2019.
Natural Gas: Natural gas is used in a variety of industrial, residential and commercial applications including electricity generation. It is considered a clean fossil fuel source and has garnered increasing demand from more countries and economic sectors. The United States and Russia have emerged as the leading producers of this important global commodity.

Retail inflation, released after market hours on Wednesday, fell below the Reserve Bank of India’s medium-term target in August, increasing the likelihood it will keep interest rates on hold in October after raising them at its past two meetings. Consumer prices rose 3.69% from a year earlier, down from July’s 4.17%, the Statistics Ministry said on Wednesday. August was the first month in 10 in which retail inflation was below the Reserve Bank of India’s medium-term target of 4%.
Four times a year publicly-traded companies release treasure troves of valuable information in the form of quarterly reports.  Companies trading in the States are required to file 10-Qs with the US Securities and Exchange Commission by 40 calendar days after quarter-ends.  Canadian companies have similar requirements at 45 days.  In other countries with half-year reporting, many companies still partially report quarterly.

There have also been on-and-off concerns about rising interest rates. Though we're still well below the historic average for the federal funds target rate, the Federal Reserve is very clearly in a monetary tightening mode. As rates rise, lending becomes more expensive, putting a cap on corporate growth potential and exposing certain companies valued at high premiums.

Given the sheer variety of cryptocurrency and the fact that most can be used in one of the three ways that a commodity can be used we believe that they are best classified as a commodity. We have selected some of the most promising market leaders in the cryptocurrency world today and created detailed breakdowns of what they do, how they work and the way to invest in them.
Copper: Copper has so many industrial uses that it would be virtually impossible to build the infrastructure of a country without it. Traders often refer to the commodity as Dr. Copper. They say the metal has a Ph.D. in economics because its price is a reliable barometer of the overall health of the global economy. In fact, investing in copper is a way to express a bullish view on world GDP.

If you pay 28% tax on your marginal income, then you also generally pay that on short-term capital gains too, but under the current tax code, long-term capital gains are taxed at 15%. That’s important, and works out to be a significant difference, because though it may seem counter-intuitive, waiting to sell a stock with a gain to achieve a potentially better tax outcome has the potential to improve your return.
Production Output: Sophisticated traders examine the output of leading producers for clues about big economic cycles. For example, mining companies might close mines and reduce output when metals prices are depressed. However, these actions often indicate that a market bottom is forming. Using production output from leading producers as a contrary indicator can be a profitable trading strategy.

If individual days can affect performance so dramatically, then why not be in the market for the good ones and out for the bad ones? Far easier said than done. Many investors try to time the market, chasing today's hot investment or fleeing the latest downturn. Such a short-term perspective can harm performance and jeopardize your long-term financial goals.
In our updates you will see an explanation of market action and probable future direction. We do updates usually several times a week. Our main newsletters come out by Monday morning and Thursday morning every week. Check the site frequently if you are not on mailing list. We usually do at least one Trade Diary update a week. We will show the technical reasons behind every trade, entry and exit.
The following is a list of opening and closing times for stock and futures exchanges worldwide. It includes a partial list of stock exchanges and the corresponding times the exchange opens and closes, along with the time zone within which the exchange is located. Last week Donald Trump, in his own estimation, succeeded in replacing what he claimed to be the "worst trade deal in history" with what he claims was "the best trade deal in history." If true, this would not only make good on one of his central campaign promises, but it would be a genuinely significant development. In reality, the unveiling of the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade deal is just the latest iteration of the President's talent for branding. As is the case in other aspects of the president's view of economic matters, the difference between then and now is almost purely semantic.

Our entire short-term oriented indicators clearly turned bearish last week. From a pure price point of view, we can see that the S&P 500 closed 61 points below the bearish threshold from the Trend Trader Index. In this context, the S&P 500 is extremely far away from getting back into a short-term oriented uptrend. Furthermore, both envelope lines of this reliable indicator are still decreasing on a quite fast pace, which is another typical technical pattern for a strong short-term oriented down-trend. But the case is slightly different if we focus on the Modified MACD. Despite the fact that this indicator flashed a bearish ....

Technical Analysis: This strategy uses historical prices and charts to analyze trends. Technical analysis traders believe historical price trends have predictive ability for prices in the future. They look for price points in the past where significant buying or selling occurred. They then place orders to trigger positions once those price levels occur again. Pure technical analysis traders pay no attention to fundamental economic factors in their trading.

Today, nobody argues that the stock market should yield more than the bond market. But other indicators are being used as rules of thumb to judge whether the market may be at an extreme. Typically, these charts show a compelling and simple relationship that appears to identify cyclical market peaks and bottoms. I will touch on a few of the charts I encounter on a regular basis. My point is not to argue whether the U.S. stock market today is expensive or not, but merely to point out flaws in these indicators that suggest an easy answer.
WTI hit a low point at $56 per barrel on Wednesday and Brent hit a low just below $65 per barrel. Both crude benchmarks regained some ground at the end of the week, despite the huge increase in U.S. crude oil inventories. In fact, rising prices in the face of the 10-million-barrel increase in crude stocks suggests that oil may have already hit a bottom. “[Y]esterday’s price reaction to the US inventory data shows that negative news is now largely priced in,” Commerzbank said in a note. “This is the only way to explain why an increase in US crude oil stocks of a good 10 million barrels failed to put further pressure on prices.”
Short Interest is the number of shares currently borrowed by short sellers for sale, but not yet returned to the owner (lender). Every short seller anticipates a declining stock market. A profit is made if the stock is bought back at a lower price than when it was sold short. When a large amount of short selling activity is occurring, market participants obviously expect prices to head lower. Short sellers are potential buyers sooner or later and represent a lot of buying power when they have to scramble for cover in a sudden market turn.

I realize it's actually kind of dumb for me to tell others how well this newsletter works, because if people learn that markets can indeed be timed, then the markets eventually become efficient, and that methodology stops working. But I think the vast majority of people still think market timing is a hoax, so there's little risk in the markets ever becoming efficient. And I write this review because I'd like to do my part to help drive some business to Campbell, since he helped me make a little money. Thanks, Bob!

Fundamentals: Stock and bond markets have fundamental data points that drive price action. Price/earnings ratios, interest rates, credit ratings and debt/equity ratios are some of the financial metrics traders use to price stocks and bonds. Commodities, on the other hand, have few if any such reliable metrics. Price action is usually driven by short-, intermediate- or long-term market sentiment. As a result, analyzing commodities markets is much more difficult.
The moving average is a line that plots the average price of a stock over a set period of time. A basic trading method is to buy when share prices rise above the long-term moving average and sell when the price falls below. In the paper, Technical Analysis with a Long Term Perspective: Trading Strategies and Market Timing Ability, some uncommon approaches were evaluated. One strategy was to analyze the trailing four years of market data to determine which moving average length proved the most effective for making investment decisions. Contrary to the usual calculation of moving averages using periods as short as 50 or 200 days, the moving averages in this paper were calculated over much longer periods of time.

If you miss even a small handful of these major moves higher, you can kiss a good portion of your long-term return goodbye. According to J.P. Morgan Asset Management's report, for the 20-year period between Jan. 3, 1995 and Dec. 31, 2014 (including both the dot-com bubble and Great Recession) the S&P 500 returned 555% (9.9% annualized) for those investors who held on and never sold. If you missed just the 10 best days in terms of percentage gains over this more than 5,000-day period, your return was more than halved to 191%.
Prices of Crude Oil has an effect on our markets specially on stocks of OIL companies , Paint companies and Aviation Companies since they import majority of the crude oil. Also India imports 80% of its crude oil . This makes up 30–50% of our import bill. SO if OPEC nations such as Nigeria , Saudi , Russia or US cut their production so that crude oil barrel prices spike , it will have a negative effect on India’s stock markets.
We left off in Part I showing a number of supply and demand components and briefly highlighting our newest research using a custom Gold/Silver/US Dollar ratio index.  Our attempt at finding anything new that could help us determine the future outcome of the metals markets and to either support or deny our future expectations that the metals markets are poised for a massive price advance was at stake.  This new research would either help to confirm our analysis or completely blow it out of the water with new data.  Let’s continue where we left off and start by showing even more data related to our new custom metals ratio.

Should you need even more proof that you don't need to dive in and out of the stock market every time some new concern emerges, take a look at the historic performance of the S&P 500 since 1950. Despite undergoing 36 stock market corrections over that time -- i.e., at least a 10% loss from a recent high, when rounded -- all but one correction (the current one) has been completely erased by bull market rallies, according to data from Yardeni Research. Erasing stock market declines often happens within a matter of weeks or months, leaving those skeptics who ran to the sidelines eating the markets' dust more times than not.

“Over 75% of U.S. industries have registered an increase in concentration levels over the last two decades. Firms in industries with the largest increases in product market concentration have realized higher profit margins, positive abnormal stock returns, and more profitable M&A deals, which suggest that market power is becoming an important source of value.”
Ed Yardeni, who was the Chief Investment Strategist for Oak Associates as well as a professor and an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank, developed the FED model. This model compares bond rates to equity premiums. For example, if the 10-year Treasury note has a higher earnings yield than the stock market (as calculated based on the trailing 12 months), you should buy bonds. If, on the other hand, the earnings yield of the market is above that of bonds, you should buy equities.

Fast-growing countries such as India and China are accumulating vast amounts of wealth as their economies grow. As a result, they have a growing need for a variety of basic goods and raw materials such as crops and livestock to feed their people, metals to build the infrastructure in their cities and energy to fuel their factories, homes and farms. Demand from emerging markets has a huge impact on commodity prices. Signs of economic slowdown in these countries can depress prices, while surging economic growth can cause commodity prices to rise.
We know this because the series is pure chance and what seemed like an inevitable rise or a decline was just the random number generator being... random. This is important to note, because our brains can often read meaning into things when there’s no meaning to be had. In fact, psychologists even have a word for seeing patterns that aren’t there – apophenia.

Daylight Savings Time (DST) is generally applicable in autumn and spring; however, it is not equally applicable to all instruments. There will be instruments that apply DST to USA times, with the EU or APAC times, while others may not apply DST at all. Our trading times are updated in the table below to reflect these changes as accurately as possible.
China demand, the China and India “love trade”, cyclical inflation driving up the prices of commodities and resources and the classic… economic growth in the US will create cost-push inflation through wage increases with the smart money seeking inflation protection in gold. All of those and a veritable Turducken of mishmashed ingredients were served to gold bugs as a decidedly not delectable appetizer before the main course.
